Each year the Head of the Houstatonic—one of the largest single-day regattas in the country—hosts approximately 2,000 competitors plus their friends and families. Rowers from over 80 high schools, colleges, universities, and clubs converge for a full day of racing at Indian Well State Park on the western banks of the Housatonic River in Shelton, Connecticut.

Derby sweeps and sculls / JUNE 2020
Derby Sweeps and Sculls is a popular early season sprint race for masters on the Housatonic river. The course is a straight 1,000 meters, running upstream (north). All boats launch from the beach at Indian Well State Park in Shelton, Connecticut. Around thirty clubs compete each year and the atmosphere is lively but relaxed—the perfect way to start the summer.
