Following these simple instructions will help expedite your application.

  1. Determine your Membership Category
    To determine the Membership Category that best applies to you, please review the Fees and Charges schedule.
  2. Submit verification of student status
    We try to make it easy for full-time students to continue rowing while home from college or while attending graduate or professional school, but we must ask you to submit something that helps us confirm your full-time student status.
  3. Complete an Application Form (Click Here for Application Form)
    Be sure to include emergency information. Because we communicate with members via email include your email address(es) as well. We do not share or sell email addresses. We do share our members’ names and USR number with USRowing, the national organizing body recognized by the United States Olympic Committee.   4. Complete the Waiver of Liability form (Click Here for Waiver of Liability Form)
  5. Perform the Swim Test and complete form (Click Here for Swim Test Form)
    This test can be performed from the NHRC dock with a member as witness.
  6. Include Dues Payment
    Write your check to the New Haven Rowing Club and include it with your completed forms. Your check will be deposited only after your membership application is reviewed by the Board and accepted.
  7. Return completed application package
    Next time you come to the boathouse you may leave your paperwork in a mailbox on the wall by the main entrance or mail to Membership Chair, New Haven Rowing Club, 407 Roosevelt Drive, Oxford, Connecticut 06478.
  8. Enjoy a few guest rows
    The NHRC Board meets the first week of the month at which time membership applications are considered. You may continue to row until your number of “guest rows” totals five.
